Allium moly, is also known as yellow garlic Jeanine, golden garlic and lily leek. This Mediterranean plant of the Allium family has the familiar garlic scent, Allium is Latin for 'garlic'. Moly grows to around 40 cm with grey-green leaves offsetting vibrant yellow umbrels of star-shaped flowers.
The moly is a vigorous, bulbous perennial that will form clumps that can be divided and shared. To achieve the well-drained soil needed by all Alliums, add grit to the soil around the bulbs when planting. This hardy perennial will bring colour and life to your border and add vibrancy to cut flower arrangements.
